Heaven's Bay -- a poem for my late Unkle Nev

Heaven’s Bay

Heavy is our sorrow,

For your ship has left its moors

But as the waves lap gently

Across this earthly pier,

Memories golden reflect,

Your love,

Unwavering and pure.

Etched deeply like a sailor’s tattoo

Forever you will stay,

Like barnacles on a ship’s hull,

Until we meet in

Heaven’s Bay.
